Quakers value silence and stillness as a way to connect deep inside ourselves, with the divine, with "That of God" within us.
The Friargate Quiet Room is intended as a space of stillness.
However busy the city outside, this is a space where you can seek and find the still centre within yourself.
Whether you are a person of faith or not, we hope it will provide you with a place for reflection, meditation, contemplation or prayer.
The Quiet Room is towards the rear of the building on the street level, overlooking the garden. Staff at reception will be happy to direct you to it.
Visitors are asked to help keep this a place of repose, and to respect the silence of anyone else present, or those who may be on the point of entering.
The Quiet Room is available during our daytime opening hours.
In the evenings it can be hired for small meetings.
On Wednesday lunchtimes a Quaker meeting for worship takes place here. All are welcome to join us.
