Room hire at Friargate Meeting House

Rooms at the Meeting House are available for hire at the charges below.

We offer:

  • Central location, close to all transport links and medium and long stay car parking
  • Well maintained premises with rooms to cater for different sized groups
  • Wheelchair accessible facilities (except Fell & Woolman Rooms)
  • Staff presence to provide security and support for all users of the building
  • Fairtrade tea/coffee available to all users and other catering by arrangement
  • Peaceful atmosphere and tranquil garden
  • Wireless internet connection available on request

  • We are normally open for bookings 08:45 to 21:45 Mon – Thu and 08:45 to 17:00 Fri and Sat.
  • A session is a morning, afternoon or evening (max 4 hours)
  • Additional hours are charged at an hourly rate of one third of the session rate
  • Short bookings may be available at an hourly rate of one half of the session rate
  • Groups requiring refreshments may either purchase from us (tea/coffee 50p per cup) or hire the kitchen, bring their own supplies and wash up
  • We can arrange a lunch of sandwiches, cake and fruit juice at £6 per person
  • Room booking must include time needed to set-up the room beforehand and to tidy up afterwards
